Research Associate I

NovoClade is seeking a Research Associate with a background in entomology, molecular biology, genetics, or a related field of science or engineering at its location in St Paul, MN. The employee will be part of a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers creating transgenic insects for pest control applications. The ideal candidate is hard-working, collaborative, detail-oriented, and self-motivated to apply the latest advancements in genetic engineering to solve real-world problems. In this role, the Research Associate will perform technical, hands-on tasks and apply their skill and knowledge in the field to support NovoClade's research and development programs. Applicants must be willing to perform work in a laboratory setting. Good verbal and written communication skills are important.

• Design and construct recombinant DNA plasmids.
• Perform DNA, RNA, and protein isolation and quantification.
• Conduct insect embryo microinjection.
• Support general maintenance of insect colonies.
• Collect and record experimental data.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers.

• Bachelor's degree in biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, physiology, or a related field, and one year of experience, or a combination of related education and experience equal to five years.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to maintain responsibility for multiple projects simultaneously.
• Technical proficiency with molecular biology techniques.
• Exceptional documentation skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team, including strong communication skills.
